Andrew Roud heads up the Washington D.C. office of McMahon Development Group and is responsible for initiating the company's development activities in Europe. Responsibilities include: site selection and acquisition consultant selection and coordination, due diligence, planning and permit approval, public relations and profit / loss oversight with direct reporting to the CEO of McMahon Development Group. Prior to joining McMahon Development Group, Mr. Roud was a Director of Development with McArthurGlen (BMG) and successfully completed the development of one of the first Factory Outlet Centers to open in the Netherlands. Through intense lobbying efforts with Federal and Provincial governments a window of opportunity was created for the project within Dutch law.
Previously, Mr. Roud was a Project Director with Opus East, where he handled very complex entitlement and rezoning for projects, gained expertise in Brownfield development and directed construction debt activities and closings.
Other highlights of Mr. Roud's career include acting as a consultant to manage regression asset due diligence, and disposition strategies for MidAtlantic, CoreStates and Bank of America portfolios, managing day to day operations of approximately 370,000 square feet of development projects for a large British based development firm and managing over $200 million worth of both retail and residential projects for a California based developer.
Mr. Roud graduated from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada with a Bachelor of Arts, Urban Development/Geography in 1987 and is currently a candidate for a Master of Science, Real Estate degree from John Hopkins University and has completed various Dutch Lessons courses at both the University of California, Berkley and Washington International School, Washington, D.C.
His memberships include: Urban Land Institute, Chevy Chase Club, MD, Canadian Club of Washington, D.C., past Board Member, Canada – US Chamber of commerce, San Francisco, CA, past Director, Belden Club, San Francisco, CA, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and International Council of Shopping Centers.
